For the bride I used softer light, and backed up
in order to get a full length photo in the same location where I photographed the close-up of the
groom on the previous page.
One
reason to use stairs in bridal portraits is the lengthening effect. With the gown draped on the
descending stairs, the bride appears taller and more graceful.
I directed her to hold her flowers in one hand, and to
bring that arm to the side with a gentle curve. The result is exactly what I was intended: the curve of
the bride's tiny waist is emphasized by the opposite curve of the arm and the window
between them. |
